About Hunter

Hunter Caparelli is a dedicated sports journalist and a current Master’s student at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he is pursuing a Master of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a specialization in the Sports Media and Communications track. He is set to graduate in June 2026. With a passion for storytelling, live broadcasting, and digital content creation, Hunter has built a dynamic career covering collegiate and professional sports.

Hunter graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in December 2024, earning his degree with distinction in Media and Journalism and Exercise and Sport Science – Sport Administration, with a minor in Coaching Education. During his time at UNC, he held key leadership roles in sports broadcasting, working with ACC Network’s GoHeels Productions and Hussman School’s Sports Xtra weekly sports news show. Hunter also served as a Student Sideline Reporter for UNC women’s soccer, UNC women’s basketball, and UNC baseball on ACC Network Extra, gaining hands-on experience in live game coverage and sports production. Additionally, after graduating a semester early, Hunter interned at ESPN’s college sports hub in Charlotte, home to ESPNU and SEC Network, and collaborated with video editors to produce high-level show content such as the Paul Finebaum Show, Marty & McGee, SEC Now, and Rally Cap.

Beyond collegiate athletics, Hunter expanded his professional experience with WBNG TV 12, the CBS affiliate in Binghamton, NY, where he interned as a sports news reporter, further sharpening his skills in local sports news coverage. As Hunter continues to grow in his field, he remains committed to delivering compelling, insightful, and engaging sports journalism across multiple platforms.
