VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) - Binghamton Bearcats Senior Guard Armon Harried, was invited on Tuesday, June 25 to a Pre-Draft workout with the Brooklyn Nets.

Harried averaged 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds this past 2023-24 season. He was also the only player on the team to start all 30 games. Harried, an America East All-Defensive Team selection for the second consecutive year, was Binghamton’s first back-to-back selection in 16 years. Harried scored a season-high 22 points in a win over the University of New Hampshire on March 2.

In his junior year, Harried averaged 11.8 points, team-leading 6.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. While shooting 42% from the field, Harried led the team with 123 defensive rebounds and 92 free throw attempts. He was also second on the team with 50 assists and 19 blocks.

Before transferring to the Bearcats his junior year, Harried played at Canisius College where he averaged 11.2 points and 4.5 rebounds his last season.

Armon’s father, Herman “Tree” Harried, helped lead Syracuse to four NCAA tournaments and a national title game appearance in 1987.

The Brooklyn Nets, who lost both of its 2024 draft picks in a blockbuster trade for James Harden in 2021, are targeting a trade that would give them a pick in this week’s draft, according to Bleacher Report. The Nets would have received the No. 3 pick in this year’s draft, but as a result of the Harden trade, that selection is going to the Houston Rockets. Brooklyn is coming off a 32-50 season where they fired head coach Jacque Vaughn and replaced him with Sacramento Kings assistant Jordi Fernández.

For the first time ever, the NBA Draft will be a two-day event. The first round of the draft will take place in Brooklyn Wednesday night, June 26, at 8 PM, with the second round starting on Thursday, June 27, at 4 PM. It has been speculated that the NBA decided to start the second round at 4PM because of the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle kicking off at 9PM that same night.
